The Londrina Esporte Clube ( Londrina EC for short ) is a Brazilian football club from Londrina in the state of Paraná . The club is nicknamed Tubarão ( Portuguese for: Hai ), the club colors are blue and white. The club plays its home games in the Estádio do Café , which seats 45,000. The club is not currently involved in any national competition.

history

The club was founded in Londrina on April 5, 1956 , when a few amateur players were attending a game between Nacional Rolândia and CR Vasco da Gama . They decided that they didn't necessarily have to go to the Nacional games to see football. Instead, they decided to found their own club, the Londrina Futebol e Regatas . This merged with the Paraná EC in 1969 , creating the Londrina Esporte Clube . In the meantime, the club colors were red and white, but they were changed back to blue and white by President Carlos Antônio Franchello during his second term in 1972. One of the club's greatest successes is the three-time success at the Campeonato Paranaense in 1962, 1981, 1992 and 2014.
