Lone Grove is a city in Carter County , Oklahoma in the United States . In 2000 the place had 4631 inhabitants.
The town, which is 7 miles west of Ardmore , is essentially a housing estate and many of the residents are employed in Ardmore businesses.

history
On February 4, 1885, a post office was opened in Lone Grove. In a geographical study of the area, the population for 1905 is given as 215 people.
A tornado killed eight people and injured many on February 10, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. local time (01:30 UTC ).
Demographics
At the time of the United States Census 2000, Lone Grove had 4631 people. The population density was 63.7 people per km ². There were 1,873 housing units at an average of 25.8 per km ². The Lone Groves population was 84.50% White , 1.86% Black or African American , 7.90% Native American , 0.15% Asian , 0.11% Pacific Islander , 0.52% said others Belonging to races and 4.97% named two or more races. 1.97% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latinos of any race.
The residents of Lone Groves distributed to 1,673 households out of which 43.8% were living in children under 18 years of age. 65.2% of households were married, 11.6% had a female head of the household without a husband and 19.6% were not families. 17.0% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 6.0% of all households aged 65 years or older.
