The Long Gables ( German Long-Giebel ) are a striking mountain with double peaks ( 4150 m and 4110 m ) in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises in the main ridge of the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains between Mount Anderson and Mount Viets .
He was discovered by the so-called Marie Byrd Land Traverse Party , a team mainly to explore the Marie Byrd Land between 1957 and 1958. They named the mountain after Jack Becker Long (* 1934), a member of this and other teams for exploring the Antarctic .
