Mount Viets is a 3600  m high mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises in a pyramid shape 3 km north of Mount Giovinetto in the main ridge of the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .

He was discovered by the so-called Marie Byrd Land Traverse Party , a team mainly to explore the Marie Byrd Land between 1957 and 1958. This named the mountain after the American geophysicist Ronald Lamont Viets (1918-1995), who in 1957 the Little America V station was operating.
