Long Night's Journey into Day is an Australian documentary about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of South Africa (Engl. Truth and Reconciliation Commission , shortly TRC ), after the end of apartheid .

The film tells the story of four characters of apartheid in four episodes, including the American student and activist Amy Biehl , whose parents have their say in the documentary, and the former police chief of Ekurhuleni Robert McBride, who is a member of the Umkhonto we Sizwe and was first convicted as an assassin for a bomb attack on a restaurant, and later pardoned by the TRC.
