Lonny Price

Lonny Price (born March 9, 1959 in New York City ) is an American actor and director .

Life

Lonny Price began his career as a stage actor in off-Broadway productions. In 1981 he took on a role in Stephen Sondheim's Broadway production Merrily We Roll Along , which was canceled after 16 performances. This was followed by roles in other theater and musical productions. At the same time he took on his first film roles. He became known to an international audience through his role as Neil Kellerman in the dance film Dirty Dancing .

From the 1990s on, he also directed numerous theater and musical productions. Together with Linda Kline , he was nominated for a Tony Award in the category of best musical libretto in 2001 for the Musical A Class Act .

The TV broadcast of the musical Company , staged by Price, was nominated for a prize at the Primetime Emmy Awards 2008 in the category directing a variety, music or comedy show. At the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards , he was in the same category for his direction of Sondheim! The Birthday Concert nominated.
