Lore Neugebauer

Lore Neugebauer , b. Wallisch-Prinz (born May 26, 1928 in Dortmund , † July 27, 1994 in Mellrichstadt ) was a German politician ( SPD ). She was a member of the European Parliament from 1987 to 1989 .

Life and work

Born in Dortmund, the economist grew up in Erfurt and moved to the Federal Republic in 1949. She lived in Mellrichstadt ( Rhön-Grabfeld district ) from 1972 until her death .

Lore Neugebauer was a Protestant , married and the mother of three children.

Political party

Since 1961 she was a member of the SPD. From 1976 to 1993 she was sub-district chairwoman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (AsF) in the SPD sub-district Rhön-Haßberge , which includes the three districts of Bad Kissingen , Haßberge and Rhön-Grabfeld . From 1979 she headed the SPD district association Rhön-Grabfeld as chairwoman for almost ten years.

On July 3, 1987, she moved into the European Parliament as a replacement for the late Würzburg SPD politician Bruno Friedrich . She joined the Socialist Group and was a member of the Institutional Committee until July 24, 1989.

Local politics

From 1984 she was district councilor in Rhön-Grabfeld and from 1990 city ​​councilor in Mellrichstadt. She remained both until her death.

She ran twice for a seat in the Bavarian state parliament and stood as a candidate in the 1990 district council election, but did not achieve the required majority in any ballot.
