Bruno Friedrich
Bruno Friedrich (born May 31, 1927 in Helmbrechts ; † June 20, 1987 near Biebelried ) was a German politician ( SPD ): member of the Bundestag, deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group, and vice-president of the European Parliament.
Life
Bruno Friedrich comes from a weaver family.
In 1944 - at the age of 16 - his compulsory membership in the NSDAP began (compulsory membership for young people; membership number 9,719,785).
After the war he worked as a primary and secondary school teacher. In 1954 he became a member of the SPD. From 1972 to 1980 he was a member of the German Bundestag . He was always elected via the state list of the SPD in Bavaria.
From 1979 until his death, Friedrich was also a member of the European Parliament - there he was twice vice-president. In the European Parliament he belonged to the Presidium and a. the Political Committee and the Delegations for Relations with the Israeli Knesset and the Federal Assembly of Yugoslavia.
Bruno Friedrich was a member and partly also a functionary in numerous organizations and institutions, u. a. in the German Society for Foreign Policy , the European Union Germany , the trade union for education and science and in the broadcasting council of Deutsche Welle and Deutschlandfunk .
