Lorenz Blank

Lorenz Blank (born May 2, 1862 in Bernterode , Heiligenstadt district , † November 26, 1922 in Hildesheim ) was a German, Roman Catholic workers secretary and politician ( center ). He was a member of the Weimar National Assembly and a member of the Hanover Provincial Parliament .

Life

Lorenz Blank worked in mines and factories after primary school. He then made a mason teacher and earned his living as a journeyman mason until 1904. He was the head of the Hildesheim local health insurance fund and had been involved in the Catholic labor movement and the Christian trade union since 1895 . From October 1905 Blank was a full-time workers secretary for the Hildesheim Christian trade union federation . In 1920 he was a member of the Hildesheim district council of the Center Party and the Windthorst League. Since 1911, the Christian trade unionist acted as an unpaid senator for the city of Hildesheim. Blank was a member of the Weimar National Assembly for the Center Party from 1919 to 1920 on and from 1921 on the Hanover provincial parliament.
