Lorenz Fischer (soccer player)
Lorenz Fischer (born November 2, 1934 ) is a former German soccer player. The goalkeeper played one game at VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga soccer season in the 1963/64 debut season and before that he played four games in the first-class soccer Oberliga Süd .
Career
Fischer came to VfB Stuttgart in 1957 from the sports community 07 Untertürkheim as a goalkeeper . When he won the cup in 1958 , he had no game share. As a substitute behind the undisputed number one, Günter Sawitzki , he played four point games in the Oberliga Süd until 1963. Under coach Georg Wurzer , the substitute goalkeeper made his debut on November 27, 1960 in a 1: 2 home defeat against Ulm in 1846 in the league. He was not used in the first three rounds at VfB in the points round. His fourth and last league game he played under Wurzer's successor Kurt Baluse on October 28, 1962 in a 2-1 home win against Kickers Offenbach.
On May 9, 1964, he came on the last day of the 1963/64 season in the newly formed Bundesliga against 1. FC Cologne for his only Bundesliga assignment. The first Bundesliga champion won the home game in front of 30,000 spectators with 2: 1 and Fischer had formed the defense together with Hans Eisele , Günter Seibold , Rudi Entenmann , Klaus-Dieter Sieloff and Eberhard Pfisterer . The Bundesliga debutant was awarded a magnificent performance. After having represented Günter Sawitzki in every failure for eight years, he moved to TSG Backnang in the Württemberg amateur league in 1965 . At TSG, Fischer experienced promotion to the second -rate regional football league south in his second year, 1966/67 . Although the 18:50 points in 1967/68 were not enough for Backnang to stay in the league, the 33-year-old Fischer also showed his capabilities as a regional league keeper in 30 missions alongside Hans Krauss and Werner Weingärtner .
From 1976 to 1979 he was Viktoria Backnang's head coach.
