Lorenz Hoffstätter (born May 29, 1904 in Bonn , † December 21, 1987 in Troisdorf ) was a German metal goods manufacturer and politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending primary and secondary school, Hoffstätter was trained at the arts and crafts school in Wiesbaden . He then learned the engraving trade in Mainz . After completing his education, he entered his father's business.

During the occupation of the Ruhr area by French troops in the early 1920s, Hoffstätter joined the Oberland organization , with which he participated in the passive resistance and the so-called Ruhr war against the occupation forces. After his capture, he was served sixty-four days of solitary confinement in a French prison.

In 1928 Hoffstätter joined the NSDAP. In 1929 he took over the office of district leader in the NSDAP district of Sieg. In the following years he held public offices as a member of the district council of Bonn and the Bonn Chamber of Commerce.

From 1932 until the dissolution of this body in autumn 1933, Hoffstätter was a member of the NSDAP in the Prussian state parliament . In 1933 he lived as a merchant in Siegburg . From November 12, 1933 to March 1936, Hoffstätter was a member of the National Socialist Reichstag for constituency 20 (Cologne-Aachen) .

From 1938 Hoffstätter was head of the Ferd medal factory in Bonn . Hoffstätter KG , with which he had supplied the party and the military with medals and badges during the Nazi era. In the post-war period, right-wing political circles were among his clientele, including the NPD and the Resistance Campaign , but also the CDU .
