Lori Ludwig

Lori Ludwig (born January 24, 1924 in Himmelsberg, today in Sondershausen , Thuringia ; † December 13, 1986 in Fürstenberg / Havel ) was a German writer .

Life

Lori Ludwig came from a farming family. After attending an agricultural vocational school , she also worked as a farmer. Interested in art and literature since her youth, she also completed distance learning courses in drawing and painting . In 1947 she joined the WeimarYoung Authors Working Group ”. After Ludwig married the writer Hanns Krause in 1953 , the couple settled in Neuglobsow / Gransee district. There, Ludwig devoted himself exclusively to her literary work; Together with her husband, she led several “ circles of writing workers ” in the region until she died after suffering from cancer .

Lori Ludwig, who started out as a poet , later mainly wrote books for children and young people . In 1970 she was awarded the Johannes R. Becher Medal in silver.
