Lothar Ferryman

Lothar Fährmann (born March 21, 1940 ) is a former German handball player .

Life

Fährmann left Pirna in 1958 , where he had played soccer and volleyball in addition to handball , in order to study at the German University of Physical Culture (DHfK) in Leipzig . In Leipzig he played handball at SC DHfK .

The left-hander, a 1.83-meter-tall backcourt player , won the European Champion's Cup with Leipzig in 1966 , and was also GDR champion four times with the team. He played for SC DHfK until 1970.

In 1965 he completed his studies at the DHfK, the title of his diploma thesis was "Compilation of factors that affect the goal throw". Fährmann then worked as a sports teacher at the DHfK and trained in handball. From 1983 to 1985 he was a handball trainer in India . After the end of the German Democratic Republic and the dissolution of the German University of Physical Culture, he continued his work as a handball teacher at the Sports Science Faculty of the University of Leipzig . Fährmann also participated in the international trainer courses held at DHfK and Leipzig University.

Fährmann was co-author of the textbooks "Handball: Collection of exercises for practice, training and competition operations" (published in 1979, together with Christian Menschel and Hans-Gert Stein ) and "Handball: Instructions for the trainer" (1st edition 1981, together with Christian Menschel and Hans-Gert Stein).
