Lothar Hartmann

Lothar Hartmann (* 1908 in Villmar , Hesse ; died November 2, 1972 near Munich) was a German radio journalist .

After the end of the war in 1945, Lothar Hartmann, as head of programming, together with Friedrich Bischoff as artistic director, set up the Südwestfunk in Baden-Baden and in just a few years made it one of the most popular German broadcasters. Until 1964 he was TV program director and deputy artistic director . On May 22nd, 1964 he was appointed by the directors of ARD to succeed Karl Mohr as the new full-time coordinator of German television based in Munich and shortly thereafter received the title of program director for German television . His successor in office at the SWF was Günter Gaus in 1965 .
