Paul Theodor Müller

Paul Theodor Karl Müller (* 5. August 1873 in Oberdöbling ; † 4. June 1919 in Graz ) was an Austrian doctor and kk University Professor of Bacteriology and Hygiene .

Life

Paul Theodor Müller was the son of the same name, in Vienna living privateers . In 1891 he passed his matriculation examination at the Academic Gymnasium in Vienna and then studied medicine at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Vienna . In 1897 he received his doctorate.

He then worked as a temporary assistant at the food testing institute in Graz, then as a demonstrator and from March 1899 as a private lecturer and assistant at the kk Hygienisches Institut of the University of Graz . In 1903 he qualified as a professor for hygiene at the university's medical faculty, where he was appointed associate professor by resolution of the Kaiser on January 31 of that year . He was there professorship holder for State Pharmacology and hygiene. The focus of his scientific work was the research of the causes and nature of immunity, for which he also published.

During the First World War he was used for military service and received several awards. In 1915 he served as President of the Salubrity Command 10.

The mathematician Hans Robert Müller and the nuclear physicist Paul O. Müller (1915–1942), who was active in the German Uranium Association , came from the marriage with Bertha Maria Anna Müller, daughter of the Austro-Slovenian mathematician Franc Jože Hočevar .

Müller's grave monument is located in the St. Peter Stadtfriedhof in Graz.
