Lothar Jene

Lothar Jene (* 1946 ; † April 28, 2007 in Greece ) was a German lawyer and journalist , director of the Hamburg Institute for New Media (HAM) and acting director of the Medienanstalt Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein (MA HSH).

Life

That studied law at the universities of Heidelberg , Freiburg , Bonn and Kiel . His clerkship he graduated in Bremen and Montreal ( Canada ), in 1980 he wrote his dissertation on "short-time working and co-determination: (. § 87 I No. 3 WCA)" and was at the University of Mannheim doctorate . In 1996 he married Lilo Jene-Ackermann, senior teacher in Heidelberg.

He began his professional career as a journalist for various daily newspapers and radio stations. Then he was a consultant in the public administration in Hamburg .

Jene has been legal advisor and deputy director since 1988 and director of the “Hamburg Institute for New Media” since May 1, 2000. In this function he was also a member of the directors' conference of the state media authorities and of the general conference of the working group of state media authorities . Since April 2003 he has also been Deputy Chairman of the “ Commission for Youth Media Protection ” (KJM) of the state media authorities .

On March 1, 2007, Jene took over the post of acting director of the new "Medienanstalt Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein". Just two months later, on April 28, 2007, at the age of 60, Jene died in a car accident in Greece .
