Lothar Krall

Lothar Krall (born January 15, 1924 in Winningen , Mosel , † December 24, 2000 in Koblenz ) was a German officer and politician ( FDP ).

The former lieutenant and fighter pilot in World War II began studying law at the University of Mainz in 1948, but joined the Federal Border Police in 1951 . There he was first a sports teacher and then a train driver. In 1956 he was accepted into the Bundeswehr . There he was first employed as a helicopter pilot ( army pilot ), and most recently he was lieutenant colonel and battalion commander. As a reservist, he achieved the rank of colonel .

In 1970 he succeeded the FDP, of which he had been a member since 1960, in the German Bundestag and resigned in 1976. He was a full member of the Defense Committee , the Foreign Affairs Committee , the Family, Youth and Health Committee , and the Home Affairs Committee . From 1973 to 1977 he was a member of the European Parliament in Strasbourg and from 1979 to 1983 of the Landtag of Rhineland-Palatinate . From 1989 to 1994 he was a councilor in Koblenz.
