Lotta & the Eternal Why is a German TV film by Joseph Orr from 2015 . It is the fourth episode of the ZDF film series Lotta with Josefine Preuss in the title role. The television series is based on the book The Last Things by Annegret Held .

After Lotta's friend David returns from India, the two move in together, despite Lotta's concerns. David quickly gained a foothold professionally and got a job with the renowned Professor Dr. Bieler. In his private life, however, he is a bit overwhelmed by Lotta's verve and speed. Both Lotta and David have their difficulties living together. They also find out that their parents have a little rendezvous.
