Lotte Friese-Korn

Lotte Friese-Korn (born September 1, 1899 in Halle (Saale) , † October 14, 1963 in Weidenau ) was a German politician of the FDP .

Life and work

After attending the Lyceum and the commercial school in Erfurt , Friese-Korn, who was Protestant , attended the gardening school in Weimar from 1918 to 1920 . She then worked in a rural women’s school, a commercial gardening company and a private horticultural company. After all, she was responsible for the school gardens of the Rosenthal Lyceum in Magdeburg and the forest school in Möser . From 1926 she worked at the Botanical Garden of the University of Jena . After their wedding, she moved to Siegen in Westphalia , where she worked as a horticultural teacher at the city's vocational and technical college until 1939. Then she worked in the same position at the girls' vocational school in Bochum.

After the Second World War, she was a member of the board of the Westphalia-Lippe regional board of the DRK and the youth hostel organization .

Friese-Korn joined the FDP in 1946. Since 1947 she was a member of the state board of the North Rhine-Westphalian FDP for almost twelve years , and in 1948/49 also of the federal board . She was chairwoman of the state women's committee and deputy chairman of the federal women's committee of the FDP. Lotte Friese-Korn was a member of the council of Breitenbach and the district council in the Siegen district .

From 1947 to 1954 she was a member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia . Friese-Korn was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1961. She ran in the federal election on September 6, 1953 in the constituency of Rheydt-Mönchengladbach-Viersen 82 and moved into the Bundestag via the state list. From 1957 to 1961 she was chairman of Working Group III “Labor and Social Policy” of the FDP parliamentary group.
