Louis Constant Lambelet (born April 25, 1827 in Les Verrières , † August 8, 1882 in Neuchâtel ) was a Swiss politician . From 1857 to 1860 and from 1869 to 1881 he was a member of the National Council, and from 1868 to 1871 he was State Councilor of the Canton of Neuchâtel .

The son of a farmer initially trained as a shoemaker , then studied law at the Universities of Strasbourg and Geneva . Lambelet worked as a lawyer , in 1867/68 he taught commercial law at the Neuchâtel Academy . From 1866 to 1873 he was a member of the board of directors of the academy, then until 1881 of the commission for higher education. During the royalist (pro- Prussian ) coup attempt in 1856 he was made a lieutenant in the infantry and was a member of the general staff of the Neuchâtel government troops. In 1880 he was promoted to Colonel Brigadier.

In 1856/57 Lambelet was a member of the Neuchâtel city ​​council and headed the building department. Also in 1856 he was elected as a representative of the radical liberals in the Grand Council of the Canton of Neuchâtel, to which he belonged until 1865 and again from 1871 until his death. The Grand Council in turn elected him to the Council of State for the years 1868 to 1871; During this time he was responsible for the judiciary and the police. Lambelet ran successfully in the National Council elections in 1857 , but resigned three years later. After the elections in 1869 he moved back to the National Council and was a member of it until 1881.
