Louisa Maria Theresa Stuart
Princess Louisa Maria Theresa Stuart , called La Consolatrice (born June 28, 1692 at Saint-Germain-en-Laye Castle , † April 18, 1712 in Paris ) was a member of the House of Stuart .
Life
Louisa Maria Teresa was the youngest daughter of the exiled King James II (1633-1701) and his second wife, the Italian Princess Maria Beatrice d'Este (1658-1718), who was the only daughter of Duke Alfonsus IV of Modena and his wife Laura Martinozzi was. Her paternal grandparents were King Charles I of England and Princess Henrietta Maria of France . Her godparents were the French King Louis XIV and his sister-in-law Princess Elisabeth Charlotte of the Palatinate , Duchess d'Orléans.
She was taught exclusively by governesses and tutors with the help of her father's library . In addition to Latin , religion , history , art , dance and music , Louisa Maria Theresa also learned Italian . At the age of 13 she was introduced at the court of Versailles and in no time she had a number of potential marriage candidates, including the aspirant to the French throne Charles de Bourbon, duc de Berry and the future King of Sweden Charles XII.
Louisa Maria Theresa Stuart died at the age of 19 from complications from smallpox and was buried next to her father.
