Louise Hermina Carry May Koekkoek (born May 5, 1898 in Amsterdam , Kingdom of the Netherlands , † January 21, 1989 in Katwijk ) was a Dutch sculptor and painter .

Life

Louise Hermina Carry May Koekkoek came from the Dutch Koekkoek family of painters . The artist was the daughter of the painter Hermanus Willem Koekkoek and Louise Johannah de Layen , and the granddaughter of the painter Willem Koekkoek , great-granddaughter of the painter Hermanus Koekkoek the Elder and great-great-granddaughter of the painter Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek .

Koekkoek was artistically active from 1913 first in Amsterdam, then from 1934 to 1969 in Leiden . Her work includes a portrait bust of her father, which is now on display in the BC Koekkoek house in Kleve .

Louise Hermina Carry May Koekkoek signed her work with LH Koekkoek . She was buried in the Rhijnhof cemetery in Leiden.
