The Lower North Branch Little Southwest Miramichi River is a left tributary of the Little Southwest Miramichi River in the Canadian province of New Brunswick .
River course
The river is in the west of Northumberland County in the central north of the province. The Lower North Branch Little Southwest Miramichi River rises north of Mount Donder at an altitude of 660 m . The river flows mainly in a south-southeast direction. After about 50 km of flow, it finally flows into the Little Southwest Miramichi River at an altitude of 160 m , 49 km above its mouth in the Northwest Miramichi River . The river has numerous rapids.
The Lower North Branch Little Southwest Miramichi River is a spawning area for Atlantic salmon .
