Luísa Días Diogo (born April 11, 1958 ) is a Mozambican politician ( FRELIMO ).

Life

Diogo comes from Tete Province , where she attended elementary and commercial school. After studying in Maputo , she completed her bachelor's degree in 1983 . She completed a distance learning course in London in 1992. Since 1994 in the cabinet of Joaquim Alberto Chissanos , she later became Minister of Finance.

On February 17, 2004, she became the first woman to be appointed Prime Minister of her country. She thus succeeded Pascoal Mocumbis . On January 16, 2010, the former Minister of Education and Culture, Aires Ali , was appointed Prime Minister of Mozambique by Mozambican President Armando Guebuza . He succeeds Diogo. Diogo will retain her mandate in parliament.

The US American Time Magazine ranked her among the 100 most influential world citizens. Diogo is married to a lawyer and has three children.
