Lu Wenchao

Lu Wenchao ( Chinese  盧 文 弨  /  卢 文 弨 , Pinyin Lú Wénchāo , W.-G. Lu Wen-ch'ao ; zi: Shaogong 召 弓 , hao: Jiyu 矶 渔 , another name: Qingzhai 檠 斋 , also popular Master Baojing 抱 经先生 called; born 1717 ; died 1795 ) was a Confucian scholar of the Qing Dynasty .

life and work

Lu was from Yuyao, Zhejiang Province . He spent most of his life comparing texts and editing Confucian classics, making notes of the differences and printing out the collected and corrected texts, such as: B. the book of Master Meng ( Mengzi ), book of Master Xun ( Xunzi ), spring and autumn of Lü Buwei ( Lüshi chunqiu ) and Chunqiu fanlu . He was one of the masters of Han scholarship ( 漢學  /  汉学 , Hànxué , Han-hsüeh ) of the Qing Dynasty . His own works include Collected Writings from the Baojing Hall ( Baojingtang wenji 抱 经 堂 文集 ) and Detailed Compilation of Commentaries on Ceremonies and Rituals ( Yili zhushu xiangjiao 仪礼 注疏 详 校 ).

Most of his writings are contained in the compilation Baojingtang congshu ( 抱 经 堂 丛书 , Pao-tsing-tang tsung-shu ).

In the reference work Hanyu da zidian ( HYDZD ), for example, his writings were used relatively frequently.
