Luc Bürgin

Luc Bürgin (born August 19, 1970 in Basel ) is a Swiss journalist , publicist and writer .

Life

From 1995 to 2002 Bürgin, who studied German, folklore, musicology, media studies and sociology at the University of Basel for several years, worked as a journalist for the Basler Zeitung Medien , most recently as editor-in-chief of the Baslerstab for several years . Many of his works focus on borderline , conspiracy theory or popular science topics. One critic described him as "Pope and a suggestion box" for "Germany's amateur archaeologists."

From January 2004 to the end of August 2019, Bürgin was publisher and editor-in-chief of the Swiss magazine Mysteries-Magazin .

The primeval code

In 2007 Bürgin published the popular science non-fiction book "The Primeval Code" . It deals with a patent granted in the 1980s by the chemical company Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis or Syngenta ), which aims to increase the resistance of crops and reduce the use of pesticides by applying electrical potentials to seeds (see electroculture ). Bürgin presents it as an ecological alternative to genetic engineering .
