Luca Milesi
Luca Milesi OFMCap (born April 21, 1924 in San Giovanni Bianco , Bergamo Province , Italy ; † May 22, 2008 ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of the Barentu Eparchy , Eritrea .
Life
Luca Milesi joined the religious order of the Capuchins and was ordained a priest on March 4, 1950. In 1995, John Paul II made him the first bishop of the Barentu diocese in Eritrea, a suffragan of the Addis Ababa archdiocese . He was ordained bishop on February 4, 1995 by the Archbishop of Addis Ababa Paulos Cardinal Tzadua ; Co- consecrators were Zekarias Yohannes , Bishop of Asmara, and Kidane-Mariam Teklehaimanot , Bishop of Adigrat.
His age-related resignation was granted in 2001 by John Paul II.
