Lucas Bernoulli

Lucas Bernoulli-Gries (born April 19, 1907 in Berlin , † October 1976 in Basel ) was a Swiss architect and politician ( LdU ) from the Bernoulli family dynasty .

As the son of the architect Hans Bernoulli , Lucas came to Basel at the age of five , where he attended the humanistic grammar school and the upper secondary school. He studied architecture at the Technical Universities of Berlin-Charlottenburg and Munich , and then practiced his profession in Berlin, Paris and Zurich. From 1940 he worked at the general trade school in Basel as a teacher for constructive drawing . From 1960 to 1963, Bernoulli was President of the Basel School Synod.

Bernoulli turned to his father's party, the State Ring of Independents (LdU), for which he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt from 1941 to 1944, from 1950 to 1953, from 1956 to 1968 and in the 1970s as a free economist was and participated in various commissions. In his residential community of Riehen , he was a member of the additional municipal council from 1966 to 1974 . Between 1966 and 1969 he was also party or parliamentary group president of his party in Basel.
