Lucas Cavallini , full name Lucas Daniel Cavallini , (born December 28, 1992 in Toronto ) is a Canadian football player .

Career

society

Born in Toronto, Cavallini is the son of a Mendoza- born father and a Canadian mother. He has a brother named Christian. At the age of four the family moved to Mississauga . He started playing football at the age of three at Club Uruguay . At the age of 16 or 17 he went to Uruguay and joined the youth team Nacionals. The, according to his club's 1.82-meter striker came in July 2012 on loan to Nacional Montevideo to Juventud . In Apertura and Clausura 2012/13, the left-footed player played 25 games in the Primera División and scored ten goals. After the 2012/13 season he returned to Nacional. By the end of Apertura 2013, he had played four league games in the current season (no goal). In early January 2014, he then joined the league rival Centro Atlético Fénix on loan. In the 2014 Clausura, he played 13 more top division games and scored twice in the opposing goal. In the 2014/15 season he was used in 27 first division games (14 goals). During the 2015/16 season, seven goals followed in 25 other premier league appearances. In the 2016 season, he was used in eleven first division games (five goals) and twice (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2016 . In January 2017 he moved to Club Atlético Peñarol , for whom he has played once (no goal) in the league in the current 2017 season (as of February 10, 2017).

National team

Cavallini was part of the Canadian U-20 team coached by Valerio Gazzola , which reached the quarter-finals at the U-20 CONCACAF Championship in Guatemala in 2011 , but failed there to Mexico. In the course of the tournament he was used in the games against Guadeloupe , Costa Rica and Mexico . In the first game he met in a 2-1 win to equalize. These were his only appearances in this selection.

He also played three games for the U-23s of Canada, all of them in 2012 at the CONCACAF Olympic qualification tournament . There he finished fourth with Canada. He scored a goal in the 1-1 draw against the Cuban team.

He has also been used three times in the senior North American team. He didn't score a goal. He made his debut in this selection on August 15, 2012 in the international friendly against Trinidad and Tobago. He played his second international match in the same year as part of the World Cup qualification against Honduras. This was followed by a longer nomination break. It was only on October 13, 2015 that he made his third international appearance under coach Benito Floro against Ghana's selection.
