Luchazes (also Lutchazes ) is a place and a district in eastern Angola . Until independence in 1975, the place name was written Luchases .

Luchazes is a municipality (Comuna) in the district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Moxico . It has around 22,000 inhabitants (2014 estimate). The 2014 population census should henceforth ensure reliable population figures.
The capital of the district is Cangamba , in the municipality of Luchazes.
