Lucia Traversa (born May 31, 1965 in Rome ) is a former Italian foil fencer .
successes
Lucia Traversa achieved her international successes mainly in the team competition. She became world champion in Vienna in 1983 and in Lyon in 1990 and also won a silver medal and two bronze medals. At the European Championships in 1991 in Bolzano she won the bronze medal in the individual. Traversa took part in two Olympic Games : 1984 in Los Angeles , she just missed a medal win with the team in fourth. Four years later in Seoul she and the team reached the final against Germany , which was lost 4-9 , and thus received the silver medal together with Francesca Bortolozzi , Annapia Gandolfi , Margherita Zalaffi and Dorina Vaccaroni .
