Lucian Msamati (* 5. March 1976 in London as Lucian Gabriel Wiina Msamati ) is a British actor with Tanzanian roots.

life and career

Msamati grew up as the son of Tanzanian parents in Zimbabwe . He attended the Olympio Primary School in Dar es Salaam , the Avodale Primary School in Harare and the Prince Edward School in Harare. He studied French and Portuguese at the University of Zimbabwe . He played his first role in 1997 in the series The Knock . This was followed by roles in films such as The Legend of the Sky Kingdom by Roger Hawkins in 2004 or Tom Tykwer's The International in 2009 alongside Clive Owen and Naomi Watts . TV productions in which he participated are for example the series A Detective for Botswana , Doctor Who and Luther . He was best known for his impersonation of Saladhor Saan in the HBO series Game of Thrones .

Msamati is also the founder and artistic director of the Zimbabwean Over the Edge Theater Company .
