Luck Mervil (born October 20, 1967 in Port-au-Prince , Haiti ) is a Haitian- Canadian actor and singer-songwriter .

Life and accomplishments

Mervil was born in Haiti. His family moved to Montreal when he was four and to New York when he was 12. He returned to Montreal at the age of 17. In 1998 he played the role of the Gypsy King Clopin in the musical Notre Dame de Paris alongside Bruno Pelletier , Daniel Lavoie , Hélène Segara , Patrick Fiori , Julie Zenatti and Garou . He stands up for the sovereignty of Québec and was named “Patriot of the Year” in 2004 by the Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Montréal .

As an actor he can be seen in the mistaken comedy The Cop, the Criminal and the Clown (2004) by director Alain Zaloum . He embodied the friend of the main character, played by Roy Dupuis . He also had a supporting role in the romantic drama A Sunday in Kigali (2006), which is set in the middle of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994.
