Lucky Grandma is a crime comedy directed by Sasie Sealy that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 28, 2019 .

An 80-year-old grandmother lives in the heart of Chinatown , New York . When a fortune teller predicts the most auspicious day of her life, she decides to go to the casino and bet all-in. Instead of winning, she suddenly attracts the attention of some gangsters. When she then uses the services of a bodyguard of a rival gang, she soon finds herself in the middle of a gang war in Chinatown.

From late April to early May 2019, the film was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival in the Spotlight Narrative section. Cara Cusumano describes Lucky Grandma on the festival website as a declaration of love for Chinatown and a tribute to all of the mad old men who live here. In early October 2019 he was presented at the London Film Festival . In January 2020 there was a screening at the Palm Springs International Film Festival . The film is scheduled to be shown at the Atlanta Film Festival in September 2020.
