Ludewig August Brüel

Ludewig August Brüel (* 1773 in the Harz , † December 31, 1838 ) was a royal Hanover mint master .

Life

Ludewig August Brüel came from the coin in Braunschweig and was responsible for since 1817 coin in Hanover as Münzkommissar and Münzwardein operates. From 1818 to 1838 he was the mint master there, succeeding Christian Heinrich Haase . His mintmaster's mark was LB or LAB from 1818 to 1820, LB or B. from 1820 to 1830, and B. from 1830 to 1838.

In 1831 he published the second edition of his work Materials for the expected reform of the German coinage , as he foresaw the later currency reforms of the German states striving for unification.

Ludewig August Brüel was married to Auguste Elisabeth Heusinger (1790-1848), their son was the future politician Ludwig August Brüel (1818-1896).

After Brüel died, Carl Schlueter was appointed his successor on January 8, 1839, followed in 1844 by Theodor Wilhelm Brüel .
