Ludwig Brüel (politician)

Ludwig August Brüel (born December 20, 1818 in Hanover , † February 29, 1896 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer and politician of the German-Hanoverian Party .

Life

Born in the Kingdom of Hanover as the son of the royal mint master Ludewig August Brüel (1773–1838) and his wife Auguste Elisabeth Heusinger (1790–1848), Ludwig Brüel attended the Lyceum in Hanover and then studied law at the Georg August University in Göttingen and in Berlin . During his studies in Göttingen he became a member of the Corps Hannovera . After completing his studies, he became a lawyer in Hanover in 1843 , then in 1844 secretary of the consistory .

In 1846 he married Sophie Caroline Wilhmine Amalie Langenfeldt from a Hanoverian family who gave birth to two daughters.

From 1846 to 1868 he worked in the Ministry of Culture in Hanover, since 1863 as a Privy Councilor and Undersecretary of State. In 1870 he became a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and belonged to it until 1896. He joined the center group as an intern. In 1875 he became a member of the German Reichstag for the Welf Party (DHP). He was a member of the Reichstag until 1884. In 1892 he played a key role in the negotiations on the return of the Guelph Fund .
