Ludger Weskamp (* 8. June 1966 in Paderborn ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and district administrator of the district Oberhavel .

Life

After graduating from high school and doing basic military service, he began a civil service career in 1986 in the non-technical postal service in Bielefeld. From 1989 he switched to the preparatory service for the non-technical high-level administrative service at the Detmold district government and began an accompanying degree at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia . After graduating with a degree in administrative management (FH) , he became a clerk in the Düsseldorf district government in 1992 , before joining the Federal Ministry of the Interior in 1993 . Here he worked as a speaker and team leader for finances, budget and controlling in the areas of digital radio BOSNet and information technology. While working, he studied business administration at the FernUniversität Hagen and qualified as a business graduate .

At the suggestion of the district administrator Karl-Heinz Schröter , the district council of the district of Oberhavel elected him in September 2010 as the second alderman and head of department for education and finance.

After the previous district administrator had changed to the state government of Brandenburg, a new election became necessary, which took place on February 22, 2015 (first ballot) and on March 8, 2015 (runoff). In the runoff election, Weskamp received 60.1 percent of the vote. However, since the required quorum of 15% of the eligible voters was not achieved due to the low turnout , the district council had to appoint the next district administrator on May 27, 2015.

Ludger Weskamp was elected in the first ballot with 34 of 53 votes and took office on June 12, 2015.

Weskamp is married and has two children. With the government move he came to the federal capital and has lived in Hohen Neuendorf since 1999 . He is a volunteer football coach for an e-youth team.
