Luding (Garzê)
Luding County ( Tibetan : ལྕགས་ ཟམ ། , transcription after Wylie : lcags zam , also Cagsam ; Chinese 泸定 县 , Pinyin Lúdìng Xiàn ), named after the iron bridge located there, belongs to the Garzê Autonomous District of the Tibetans in the Chinese province of Sichuan . Luding has an area of 2,165 km² and around 80,000 inhabitants (end of 2004). In the 2000 census, 77,855 inhabitants were counted.
The iron chain bridge , Tib .: lcags zam , has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (1-22) since 1961 .
Administrative structure
At the community level, Luding is made up of seven large communities and five communities . These are:
- Large community Luqiao (泸 桥镇), 19,459 inhabitants (2000), capital, seat of the county government;
- Lengqi Municipality (冷 碛 镇), 8,900 inhabitants (2000);
- Xinglong Municipality (兴隆 镇), 9,522 inhabitants (2000);
- Moxi municipality (磨 西 镇), 6,794 inhabitants (2000);
- Pengba municipality (烹 坝镇), 4,156 inhabitants (2000);
- Greater community Yanzigou (燕子沟镇) (formerly Xinxing community新兴乡), 4,568 inhabitants (2000);
- Large municipality of Detuo (得 妥 镇), 6,102 inhabitants (2000).
- Lan'an Municipality (岚 安 乡), population 2,789 (2000);
- Community Tianba (田坝乡), 4,124 inhabitants (2000);
- Chuni municipality (杵 坭 乡), 2,966 inhabitants (2000);
- Community Jiajun (加郡乡), 3,873 inhabitants (2000);
- Community Dewei (德威乡), 4,602 inhabitants (2000);
