Lodovico Tevoli (also Ludovico Tevoli or Lodovico Teoli ; born February 13, 1772 in Morlupo , † October 17, 1856 in Rome ) was an Italian bishop of the Curia .

Life

He first studied at the Roman College, which earned him a doctorate in theology on December 6, 1797 . At the College of Protonotaries in Rome, he also received his doctorate on March 16, 1806 as Doctor iuris utriusque .

On July 15, 1814, Tevoli was apparently already a priest and substitute for the secretary of the building works of Saint Peter . As a canon of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore , he was appointed titular Archbishop of Athenae on December 17, 1832 . He was ordained bishop on December 23rd of the same year by Pietro Francesco Galleffi , Cardinal Bishop of Porto e Santa Rufina ; Archbishops Giacomo Sinibaldi and Luigi Frezza were co- consecrators . On February 7, 1833, Tevoli was appointed secretary of the Congregation for Indulgences and Holy Relics , probably due to the intercession of Cardinal Antonio Maria Frosini . Pope Gregory XVI appointed him the following year, on June 23, 1834, apostolic almsman and on August 9, 1835 canon of St. Peter's Basilica . Pope Pius IX confirmed him on June 17, 1846 in his offices. On April 9, 1856 he was relieved of his duties.
