Ludwig Alexander of Jordan

Ludwig Alexander Christian David von Jordan (born June 9, 1806 at Gut Schönwald near Rosenberg OS ; † December 23, 1889 in Potsdam ) was a German lawyer and politician.

Life

Born as the son of the President of the General Commission for Upper Silesia Martin Ludwig von Jordan auf Schönwald und Jordansmühl, Ludwig Alexander von Jordan attended grammar school in Brzeg . After graduating from high school, he studied law and political science at the three Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universities, the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin , the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität and the Schlesische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität . In 1826 he became active with Ernst Heinrich Rummel in the Corps Borussia Bonn . After completing his studies, he joined the Prussian and Anhalt financial administration. He became the Duke of Anhalt Customs Director and in 1852 Provincial Tax Director of the Province of Saxony . From 1848 to 1849 he was chairman of the Patriotic Association in Berlin. From 1849 to 1851 he was Vice President of the First Chamber of the Prussian State Parliament and in 1850 a member of the State House of the Erfurt Union Parliament . He was a member of the Prussian State Council . Jordan was the author of numerous political and financial writings. He was chairman of the executive commission of the relief association of warriors wounded in the field for the province of Saxony.
