Ludwig Christoph Wilhelm Cappel

Ludwig Christoph Wilhelm Cappel (* 1772 in Helmstedt ; † July 9, 1804 in Münden ) was a German doctor and university professor .

Life

Cappel was the son of Hofrat and medicine professor Wilhelm Friedrich Cappel . He studied from 1793 at the University of Helmstedt medicine and was there in 1796 with the dissertation De sanguinis congestionibus to Dr. med. PhD . Then he settled as a general practitioner . With his work De pneumonia typhode sive nervosa he completed his habilitation in 1798 at the University of Göttingen , where he taught as a private lecturer until his appointment as associate professor in 1800 .

Cappel also received an appointment as an imperial councilor and professor in Moscow . However, he could no longer take up this position. He died of pulmonary consumption while traveling .

The writer and actress Clara Anschel was his sister, the doctor Johann Friedrich Ludwig Cappel his brother and the clergyman Andreas Friedrich Gottlob Glaser his brother-in-law.
