Ludwig Gitzler

Ludwig Anton Gitzler (born June 13, 1811 in Guttentag ; † August 5, 1888 in Breslau ) was a lawyer, university professor and member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation .

Life

Gitzler attended the Catholic grammar school in Breslau, studied law in Breslau and Halle , and completed his habilitation in 1835 in Breslau, where he had been a full professor since 1850. He wrote a handbook of ecclesiastical and marriage law, as well as several treatises that refer partly to canonical, partly to Roman law. Since 1848 he worked for several associations for the Christian Caritas, in particular also for the association for the reform and accommodation of released prisoners.

From 1867 to 1871 he was a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation and the Customs Parliament for the constituency of Breslau 13 ( Frankenstein , Münsterberg ) and the Free Conservative Association .
