Ludwig Gotthilf child

Ludwig Gotthilf Kind (born October 7, 1830 in Chur , † January 21, 1913 in Barmen ) was a Swiss Reformed pastor .

Life

He was born the son of Pastor Paulus Kind the Younger . From 1848 to 1851 he studied Protestant theology first at the University of Basel and later at the University of Tübingen . In 1856 Kind was appointed pastor in Rorschach , a year later he gave up this position after a nervous breakdown. From 1858 to 1872 he was pastor in Chur. That year he accepted the offer from Barmen-Gemarke to take over the pastor's position there because of the higher wages. In 1901 he gave up this position due to his retirement. He stayed in Barmen, where he died on January 21, 1913. Kind is considered to be one of the best German-speaking preachers and pastors of his time. His son Paul Theodor Kind also became a clergyman.
