Ludwig Hofmann (politician, 1798)

Ludwig Hofmann (born December 28, 1798 in Saalfeld , † March 23, 1879 in Coburg ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a councilor , Hofmann studied law at the University of Jena after visiting the Casimirianum Coburg . During his studies he became a member of the original fraternity in 1816/17 . In 1819 he became a lawyer in Coburg, and in 1821 a government assessor at the appellate court in St. Wendel . From 1823 to 1824 he was Minister of State in Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld , then until 1858 a member of the judiciary in Coburg. In 1825 he became a state councilor, in 1837 a government and judicial councilor , and in 1847 a government director . From 1844 to 1847 he was a member of the Saxon-Coburg and Gotha State Ministries . In 1844 he became a Council of State and in 1862 a Privy Council .
