Career

societies

Hofmeister joined FC Bayern Munich in 1904 and took the position of goalkeeper. With Bayern he won the Eastern District Championship in 1910 and 1911 , synonymous with the Bavarian Championship.

After FC Bayern Munich had signed goalkeeper Karl Pekarna for the 1911/12 season and he ousted him in goal, he left the team in 1913 and joined the Stuttgarter Kickers . After the war, Hofmeister returned to Munich and again guarded the FC Bayern Munich gate from 1919 to 1921 before finally ending his career.

National team

As a goalkeeper for FC Bayern Munich, Hofmeister played his first international match , which was lost 3-2 to the Netherlands on November 17, 1912 in Leipzig . He played his second and last international match as a player for the Stuttgarter Kickers on December 5, 1914 in Amsterdam in a 4-4 draw against the Netherlands. It was also the DFB's last international match until the end of the First World War .

Hofmeister was thus the second after Max Gablonsky and, together with Fritz Fürst, one of three national players that FC Bayern Munich played before the First World War.

Others

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of FC Bayern Munich, Hofmeister was honored with the silver jubilee badge.
