Ludwig Karl d'Ocfort on Schedling
Ludwig Karl Baron d'Ocfort zu Schedling († 1724 ) was general and war minister in the directorate of the Braunau parliament in 1705/1706.
Christian Probst mentioned d'Ocfort at the beginning of the war against Emperor Leopold I started by Elector Maximilian II Emanuel on September 8, 1702. Colonel d'Ocfort was in command of the southern border section in the fixed castles of Marquartstein , Hohenaschau , Wildenwart, Neubeu and Auerburg .
At the Braunau parliament, the farmers under Andreas Thanner urged the former Bavarian brigadier to take over the supreme command of the rebellious troops.
“It is not without the personal and general tragedy in this uprising that on the very day the government announced his appointment to Baron d'Ocfort, he was attacked in his Schedling Castle, ½ km north of Trostberg , by a group of armed rural people . This indecent crowd plundered the castle, closed the household effects, took all weapons with them and beat d'Ocfort, his wife and his children in a bad way. "
The congress used Johann Marian von Leyden, Franz Bernhard von Prielmayr , Johann Alois Jehle and the former Bavarian Lieutenant Colonel von Kilburg for the four infantry regiments to be set up ; the Dragoon Regiment was to receive d'Ocfort. On December 25, 1705, the Braunau parliament took the oath from d'Ocfort as the commanding general.
The d'Ocfort dragoon regiment was raised to 400 men, of which only 50 were mounted; in addition, according to Christian Probst, “d'Ocfort kept his team at his estate near Kraiburg , probably to protect it if necessary”.
On August 9, 1706, the Imperial Administration in Bavaria presented the investigation report to Joseph I. For d'Ocfort, who had only been forced to participate, she only recommended three to four weeks of city arrest .
