Ludwig Mühlhofer

Ludwig Mühlhofer (born July 11, 1888 in Hungarian Altenburg ; † March 18, 1978 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian hydraulic engineer .

Life

In the summer of 1897 he moved to Vienna with his family . From 1906 to 1911 he studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Vienna there . During the semester break he practiced at the construction company Josef Riehl . In 1912 he passed the second state examination and was mainly employed by railway construction subcontractors. In 1915 he was employed by the construction company Josef Riehl . In 1916 Josef Riehl handed over his company to Karl Innerebner (employee since 1899) and August Mayer (1872–1957), who renamed the company to Innerebner and Mayer . Mühlhofer stayed until he retired in 1963. In 1915 he planned strategic military railways in the Gailtal and 1916– 1917 in the Fiemme Valley . He planned the Achensee power plant , the power plant Kirchbichl and the first part of expansion of hydropower stations in the Zillertal . In 1921 he received his doctorate from the Technical University of Vienna. In 1930 he built the Bösdornau power plant . From 1931 he was employed in the central office of the construction company Innerebner und Mayer in Innsbruck , where he had power of attorney from 1939 .

In 1924 he developed a graphic determination of the mirror movements in push locks , which clearly showed the correct time-dependent course of the mirror position.
