Ludwig Thomas (politician)

Ludwig Christian Günther Thomas (born October 24, 1810 in Kindelbrück , † October 28, 1891 in Sondershausen ) was a German politician .

Life

Born the son of a businessman, Thomas studied theology in Jena after attending grammar school in Nordhausen . During his studies in 1830 he became a member of the Arminia fraternity . After his exams, he was ordained in Sondershausen in 1841 and received his appointment as pastor in Badra in 1843 . He also became a special superintendent in the diocese of Sondershausen. From 1849 he worked as an editor of the Thuringian Church Gazette. In 1850 he became superintendent of the state diocese of Sondershausen. From 1851 to 1891, with a few interruptions, he was a member of the Landtag of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen for the National Liberal Party in constituency 13 , of which he was age president from 1880 to 1883 and from 1888 to 1891. In 1859 he took over the parish in Holzthaleben . In 1866 he became superintendent of the Ebeleber district. In 1872 he was appointed consistorial councilor.
