Louis of Savoy
Ludwig of Savoy , also called Ludwig the Younger (* June 5, 1436 ; † August 1482 ) was Count of Geneva and King of Cyprus ( 1459 - 1460 ). He was the son of Duke Ludwig the Elder of Savoy and Anna of Lusignan from the Cypriot Ramnulfiden family .
In 1459 he married Charlotte von Lusignan , Queen of Cyprus , daughter of King John II and Helene Palaiologos , who had succeeded her father in 1458.
In 1460 Jacob, the Archbishop of Nicosia and illegitimate son of John II, claimed the throne for himself and blocked Charlotte and Ludwig for three years in the castle of Kyrenia . When the couple fled to Rome in 1463 , Jacob was crowned king.
