The bomb shelter Broich is in the district of Broich in Mönchengladbach ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ), Broicher road 164th
The bunker was built in 1941. It was entered under No. B 171 on March 16, 2009 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

The air raid shelter is located in Rheindahlen-Broich on Broicher Strasse in a rural area at the time it was built. The air raid shelter is a two-story, above-ground building made of reinforced concrete . Erected on a rectangular floor plan , it has the dimensions 16.55 × 13.95 meters.
A steep hipped roof is placed over the upper bunker ceiling, which is 1.50 meters thick . For this purpose, ogive belt arches made of pumice stones were made, on which pumice planks were placed. The renewed tile roof lies on top.
The wall thickness of the roughly formed outer walls is 2.00 meters and, according to the original design from 1941, should be faced with brick masonry on the ground and upper floors and half-timbering in the facade surfaces of the top floor for reasons of camouflage . However, this was no longer carried out. The interior floor plan has been retained except for minor changes made after the war.
Via one lying on the long side protected entrance building is slightly recessed into the ground bunker a few steps comprehensive will stairway opened on the ground floor. From the entrance zone, which is protected by a lock system, the cells connected via two lengthways corridors can be reached and the upper floor via an adjacent staircase. Separate toilets and washrooms as well as the heating and ventilation systems on the ground floor were retained. On the western long side, the heating chimney is placed in front of the facade.
